Project Title: Punch Pubs & Co – Energy Efficiency Technology

Objectives: Reduction in energy consumption (aligned to our Sustainable Development Goal 7 target – Affordable & Clean Energy) 

Project description: The energy efficiency of our pubs is important. 

Improving the efficiency of our estate reduces the environmental impact of our operations, saves money for our Management Partners (MP) and Publicans, and shows guests our commitment to sustainability, through one of our core values of Doing Well, by Doing Good. 

• Installed half-hourly smart meters in MP and Laine pubs. 

• Installed Technik2 cellar cooling and fridge management equipment in over 300 pubs. 

Upgraded over 400 boilers across our Leased & Tenanted, MP, and Laine pubs. 

Outcomes: We have, to date, recorded a 10-12% reduction in energy consumption compared to the 2023 baseline. 

Additional information: The next step is to install voltage optimisers in selected sites, which should result in a further reduction of 8-12%. 

Technik2 equipment is also being provided to L&T sites on a rental agreement to help operators reduce their energy bills.
